DESCRIPTION

Peru’s landscapes and ecosystems are truly diverse, each forming a wonderful part of any trip in their own right. The western region of Paracas, its desert dunes and dramatic coastline is no different.

Easily accessible from Lima, Paracas and its peninsula are real hubs for both nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. The Paracas National Reserve is in fact a wildlife sanctuary, covering over 800,000 acres that host migratory birds, Dolphins, Turtles and even Humboldt Penguins. You’ll also find the Ballestas Islands here, an outcrop known for huge Sea Lion, Pelican and Penguin colonies, plus the distinct markings of ancient peoples along its neighboring shoreline too.

A boat trip to the Ballestas Islands and time on the coast with Venturia is a must, as is fun-filled off road in the Paracas desert. This ever-popular pastime is as adrenaline-packed as it is scenic, often finishing with a sunset cocktail atop the tallest dunes!
