Chinchero is a town frozen in time; its buildings were constructed on top of original Incan foundations, yet you can still see traces of the history of the Sacred Valley in the adobe and stone walls. The main square is a fine example of the blend of Incan and Spanish architectural styles.
Venturia will take you on a journey of discovery through the archeological site of Chinchero and another of exploration at Moray, where it is believed the Incas performed agricultural experiments on its circular terraces. The last stop on this trip is the Maras salt mines, which the Incas used to supply the Empire with salt. The pink salt harvested here is a gourmet delicacy.
